Monitoring Weather
The following message from Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration Eric Monday was sent to all of campus on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022.
Campus Community,
We are monitoring a potential weather event that will likely impact our campus and community Thursday, Feb. 3 and Friday, Feb. 4.
Widespread rain is expected through Thursday, with a total expected precipitation of 2.5 - 3.5 inches. The rain is expected to transition to a wintry mix from north to south late tonight through Thursday evening, with the wintry mix tapering off Thursday night into early Friday morning.
As we have started doing recently, we will work to keep you informed with more frequent updates about our efforts to keep the campus safe and open, as well as any changes in our operational status, should that be necessary.
- We will post updates as we continue to monitor the situation here.
- That page will be updated with links to the latest information regarding facilities, operations and our weather efforts.
- If there is a change in the university’s status, in terms of delay or closure, we will send a UK Alert.
More information about employee winter weather policies is available here.
We know that frequent and expeditious communication is always important, but particularly during a weather event when the situation on the ground can change rapidly.
Thank you for all you do.
Eric N. Monday
Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration
