Continuing to Monitor Weather
Campus Community,
As we communicated yesterday, inclement weather is predicted in the Lexington area this weekend. Our best available information, at this time, indicates that precipitation will begin late this evening, with snowfall beginning in the early morning hours.
Beginning today and continuing into the weekend, our campus will host several important activities. The Office of Enrollment Management will host Merit Weekend, and the Kentucky STUNT team, our newest varsity sport, will host a competition, among other events.
We plan to continue those important events and have communicated that with prospective students, families and employees who are supporting our work this weekend.
We are preparing to ensure the health and safety of all those on our campus. Here is how:
- Our workers in facilities and public safety will be prioritizing, and in some cases have already begun to work on, areas most impacted by these events and activities – roads and sidewalks around the Gatton Student Center and White Hall Classroom Building, for example.
- We ask employees supporting those events to continue plans to report to work as scheduled.
- If there are changes in schedules or events – or if facilities and other operations are impacted in any way – we will update the UK home page and our alerts page at uky.edu/alerts. We also will communicate any changes on UK’s social media platforms and through the media.
- The schedule for this weekend also can be found here.
Thank you for all you do for UK.
