Faculty and Staff, With recent passage of the 2017 Tax Cuts & Jobs Act, we are providing an update on when you can expect to see the changes on your paychecks. The IRS is still working on revising withholding forms and tax tables related to the new tax rates and expects to release them later this month. Until the IRS releases the new withholding tables, the IRS has directed employers to keep using 2017 withholding rates in employee checks. Dear Wildcat, This week, the latest dining facility that caters specifically to your needs is opening on our campus. Champions Kitchen is the residential dining venue located inside the new UK Student Center. While the remainder of the 300,000-square-foot Student Center is still under construction for a few more months, access to Champions Kitchen will be available via one entrance located on the south side of the building facing White Hall and Patterson Office Tower. This state-of-the-art facility has been designed specifically with you in mind:

UK Alert, the University’s emergency notification system, is activated in times of University closings, delays, early dismissals due to weather, and other major emergencies. Log in to myUK and click the UK Alert tab under Employee Self-Service to update your account.

Temporary Ban on Hoverboards Due to Safety Concerns

Dear Colleagues and Students, Nothing is more important to us than the safety of our community—our students, faculty, staff, alumni, patients, visitors, and fans. Over the past several months, a national dialogue has developed around hoverboards in light of safety concerns raised by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The CPSC has issued a strong warning about hoverboards after batteries within the devices were reported to burst into flames — especially while being charged — resulting in a metal fire that can burn with intense heat.
